Groundwork in Derby and Derbyshire are unique amongst Groundworks nationally in having a team dedicated to Creative Media. Based at the Groundwork Toolbox in Somercotes, Derbyshire, the Creative Media Team specialise in using digital media, in the form of film, sound and multimedia, as an element of the Trust's wider regeneration activities.

"Groundwork have always had a reputation for not being afraid to try new approaches and apply a bit of fresh thinking. I think our Trust are particularly adept in this area. The opportunity to run a creative media centre came up a few years ago and we jumped at the challenge. Today, the use of sound and video to supplement projects, and to give our communities a voice, has become very mainstream indeed."

Meet the team ...

Jon Hughes Creative Media Technician. Currently heads up Imagination Lab operations and is mainly responsible for pre and post production of all video projects. He is also responsible for maintaining and developing our digital media facilities. Contact Jon

Helen Dyke Creative Media Assistant. Responsible for supporting the work of the Imagination Lab and the Creative Media Technician. Helen's particular forte is in the editing and post production areas of video making. Contact Helen

Sheryl Bailey Evening Receptionist. Responsible for the hygeine and domestic maintenance of the Groundwork Toolbox. Sheryl also acts as an evening receptionist for Toolbox clients and students.
