‘Kick Off’ for Football Families!!

Groundwork Derby & Derbyshire have recently set up ‘Football Families’ - a new exciting project which will be taking place in Amber Valley over the next 3 years. Based in the 4 areas of Ironville, Somercotes, Langley Mill and Heanor, the project hopes to address physical, mental and social health issues and health promotion by getting more people active through football!
Working in partnership with Derbyshire FA, Amber Valley Borough Council, Ironville & Codnor Park Health Forum, Coalfields Regeneration Trust and Derby County FC Football in the Community, a series of afterschool clubs, weekend sessions and holiday competitions are planned, teaching football skills, encouraging teamwork, promoting healthy eating and participation from all ages.
