Groundwork Derby & Derbyshire is currently looking to increase the skill base and diversity of its Board.  The post of trustee is unpaid, however it provides considerable opportunity for community involvement and personal development.  


    We are particularly interested in receiving applications from people with skills in the areas of marketing, accountancy and law.

    The minimum commitment expected from trustees would be attendance at Board meetings which take place 4-6 times a year and are mostly on a Thursday evening at 5.30 pm at the Bridge Centre in Langley Mill.  Trustees' responsibilities include:

    o having ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the trust and planning its strategic future
    o ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivers the charitable outcomes for which it has been set up
    o ensuring that it complies with charity law including the preparation of annual accounts
    o ensuring that it complies with the rules set out in its governing document
    o using charitable funds reasonably, and in furtherance of its objects
    o making policy decisions
